Rasta.Reg I40 Update
With the arrival of LAN coming up Rasta.reg all slowly made their way into Wales after many hours of driving by TsuNami he arrived safe and sound around 9pm on the Sunday night. We set out on preperations and started off with our weak maps being Train, Tuscan, Nuke (a little) and contra having not played these they were our weakest maps. After the week was up we managed to work on all maps but dust2 and inferno.
During bootcamp we managed to secure a good friendship with spanish EMS team Quick after one or two pcw's. We have spoken and they have told us that they will help us out in playing new maps we go over and new tactics. We have also managed to talk to Rasta. and Holl1s said we could also play them in future.
After many hours of driving we arrived at LAN on the Thursday, I would like to take this oppertunity to say thank you to everyone who turned up to the BBQ and made it possible, Also a big thanks to TsuNami for hosting and cooking all the food for everyone. What a machine he was managing to cook all that food after driving since 9am that morning and then also driving back to his at 12:30 and arriving back at LAN for 2am.
So to the start of LAN. it started out disappointingly slow with all the problems that occured. wasn't the best LAN to start with but the admins worked exceedingly hard over night and sorted it before i went to bed at 1:30am on Saturday. With the second day came the group stages, The top seed in Rasta.reg's group was Imperial UK. the arrival of the first game came quickly at 10am and with it also came technical issues with the networking in our team with myself hitting 900ping and it causing us a 21-9 loss on Dust2, our second game was on Inferno against #ASYLUM with network issues we lost many rounds and managed to scrape the 15-15 draw.
After we played #ASYLUM we decided enough was enough and we were going to get Mr. Parkins on the case with the two attempts to get an admin to sort it failing. after a little discussion and a yellow shirt here he managed to sort the problem out and we set off on the next game.
Our third group game was against TP.Rockeye on nuke and with the networking issues fixed we held out on CT half and then set to work out split and pick strats as well as some complex pushes to get the 25-5 win from them. The fourth game was set for train, one of the maps we worked on while at bootcamp, our opponents PIPEDOWN got us worked up for the game as i used to play with one of them upon a time (before I33)so with that in mind we set out for a victory from the start. we played through dominating the t half and getting the win of 18-12.
At this point we had to win our last group game to get through because of the network issues at the start, and with the next map tuscan another of the practiced maps we went in with a hope of getting the victory to put us through into the upper bracket. #simply.css i took as a threat due to us having played a team with the same name before, not the same team and we steamed through using our smoked and pushes on t side to lead us to a 19-11 win and through to the double eliminations.
Our first game in the upper brackets we drew up against TP.G$G 9th seed and a good team, we knew we had to play well and with it being on Dust2 one of our weakest maps we had lost a little confidence. never the less we played the game like any other getting morale up and keeping track of how they were playing so that we could predict how they would push so we could counter it. with a 16-13 win we surprised many teams, especially Crack clan who we drew against next game. With the same map rotation as the groups except for Nuke we went on to play Inferno.
We dominated the CT side after winning the knife round to win 13-2 before a box cut out and Crack Clan were disconnected from the server. After the Box came back up and we lo3'd the second half we had lost the momentum we gained and our concentration had been broken but we managed to secure the win oh 16-14 against the 8th seed.
Our next game was on Train but with the outstanding play from Very Games we lost 16-3 to them in a quick game that knocked us to the lower bracket.
We had to wait for our next game, The decider on who we were playing was the game between TP.GLG and TP.G$G. watching the game they both played hard and it came through to TP.GLG to play us on Dust2. With a tough game ahead we had another of our pep talks (one of the many we have had at LAN) we played as hard as we could with a few mistakes but also GLG knowing how we play as we had not long knocked G$G down on the same map. we lost this 16-13 with us out of the competition in 12-9th place. we were seeded 24th and are happy with our result.
RASTA.REG WILL BE BACK!
